There are many orthodontic problems that we diagnose and treat, below are a couple of examples.

A Crossbite (before) is where one or more of the lower teeth overlap in front of the upper teeth. Conventional braces and expansion can correct this problem (after).

Crowding is due to insufficient room in the upper and lower arches; it causes the teeth to erupt into malaligned positions. The use of braces (with or without extractions) can turn this into a beautiful smile!

Missing Teeth: Some people are born with one or more permanent teeth congenitally missing. In such cases, we use braces to consolidate the existing teeth, making room where the missing teeth should be. A retainer with Pontics (fake teeth) is used to fill the spaces until permanent cosmetic dentistry can be done.

Overbite is the vertical overlapping of the upper teeth over the lower, some more excessive than others, and is usually accompanied by an Overjet – the horizontal projection of upper teeth beyond the lower teeth (bucked teeth).

Spacing of the teeth is corrected by using braces to gather the space, creating a more uniform smile. Proper chewing is impacted by this type of bite, in which the upper and lower front teeth do not overlap.

Openbite may cause a number of unwanted habits such as tongue thrusting. Impacted teeth can be corrected as well.
